if you aleady have dropbox/etc you can easily copy DB there before phone upgrade. If I had some big DBs I'd do that. Only keeping GC codes would not be what I want. I want the data. I played with databases of 50k caches or more.

But I don't think GCDroid should backup large data like that.

Settings (templates are part of that) should be saved though.

I guess databases are rather big. But simple backup of settings and automatic restore sounds like a good idea...

mhhhh, settings and templates can be handles within GCDroid.... databases are BIG ;-) 

given the fact that I already have download for Dropbox I might be able to figure something out...

All of that CAN be done... Problem would be privacy concerns of users, etc.

I kinda like the idea but seems like lots of work.

denke auch, die FTF Suche gibt es bereits... und das Ergebnis wandert bald in eigene Datenbank und fuer events hab ich mir schon was ueberlegt. gibt hier auch schon paar andere punkt bzgl event support...
